| Slowly, in a warm, comfortable den in RiverClan territory opened a long furred she-cat her baby blue eyes. A pale streak of sunlight shown down through the entrance of the den she was currently living in and was probably the source that woke her up. Next to her lay a muscled, black and white tom with his eyes closed and his tail curled around her. Cindersmoke, her mate. She slowly lifted her head and blinked several times. Although the sun shone very welcoming, the calico she-cat got the impression it was early. Some cats were up but most were still sleeping safe and sound, just like Cindersmoke. Carefully getting up, not wanting to disturb and wake her mate she sat up and yawned without making a sound. She felt refreshed and calm, for the first time in probably weeks. She was a young warrior who had just finished her apprenticeship and just had set her fist steps into adulthood. She was known as Honeyspots. She flicked her ears when she could her movement next to her. She looked down to her mate who shifted in his sleep and mumbled something about ’love’ and something she could not hear very properly. She guessed it was her name since it sounded very much like it. Honeyspots now slowly rose to her paws and padded with the utmost care away from her mate, evading her clan mates who were still sound asleep. When she reached the entrance of the den and stepped into the streak of sunlight she blinked several times to get her eyes used to the bright light. She waited for a few moments and then stepped out. When her eyes were adjusted to the bright light she took a swift look around and noticed that the camp was mostly abandoned. Most warriors probably were on a patrol or early hunt, she felt like she had to do that as well. But let’s eat something first. She decided as she padded towards the fresh kill pile. Yesterday they ate pretty much, the river was rich with fish this new leaf and you could notice it. Although she felt somewhat hungry she decided to leave the prey that was still there for the elderly and the kits. She felt like hunting herself and eat it right away. With that idea, Honeyspots turned around and walked towards the entrance of camp. Outside she headed straight towards the river. A small breeze played with her fur and gave her a comfortable feeling. It was warm, the sun was bright, but the breeze that was there made it just that little tad nicer outside. It almost seemed like that particular day that everything is bright and nice and sweet. Like a newborn kit. She pushed away the disturbing thought of how a day like this could end, easily, in bloodshed. When she reached the river she took a deep breath and stopped when her paws were in the water. The stepping stones under her moved a little. She lowered her head and licked swiftly some drops of water and swallowed the cooling, fresh water. It tasted so good! Almost as good as the fish that was in it. Without further ado she hailed herself face first into the river and dove under. Paddling she swum a good while down and eventually swum back up to get some air. The water felt so good on her paws that she almost moaned in delight. At days like this, Honeyspots always thanked StarClan for being a RiverClan cat. It seemed always so refreshing, the water on her long fur. Her blue eyes noticed some movement on the other side of the riverbank and she noticed a unknown cat. The she-cat didn’t seem to see Honeyspots. Surprised to see such an early riser like her at the river she paddled towards her, poking her head trough the reed she mewed cautiously but still with a pretty friendly voice ”Hey there, ThunderClan cat! What brings you here so close to the border?” She dove back under water and rose at the middle of the river, not wanting to provoke anything or giving the she-cat the idea she was going to jump on ThunderClan shore.

| With a hollow glaze tainting her gaze, Strawberry padded alongside the river on the Thunderclan side of it. Her tail dragged across the ground, as it had drooped like a withering flower a while ago. A tired feeling washed over her as calming waves of the river. But even though the feeling felt so calm and tranquil, it threatened to drown her. Just like the seemingly calm river, if she were to fall in. Nobody would save her then, as Strawberry wasn't able to swim... Still, Strawberry embraced the soft feathery feeling of the tiredness, as it washed her worries away, slightly. If you were worried about all sort of things the whole day, it started to consume you, eat you away and finally, breaking you down.
A sigh escaped from her mouth and rolled over her lips, the silent gust she breathed stirred the air and even though it was visible for a few precious seconds, it diluted quickly and faded away in the air. The young snowshoe she-cat didn't even know why she had gone to the border, she just went there. There was a soft... Urge, that she needed to go there. Maybe she was about to meet someone who'd be important in her life? Someone who she could talk to? She laughed softly with a slightly bitter tone. She startled herself for a moment, she had never produced such a tone before. But still she could understand why. No one could help her with this predicaments. Even if she were to tell, which cat would believe her allegations? No one.
”Hey there, ThunderClan cat! What brings you here so close to the border?” A voice resonated above the noises of the river and Strawberry snapped awake from her thoughts. Startled, she looked around, before spotting the cat head that broke the surface of the water and confidently bobbed along with it. Riverclan cats... She'd never understand them. How could someone like to swim?! "Hello there," She finally mewed, sounding slightly unconfident. "I could ask the same to you, what's your name? Riverclan cat?" A soft smile made her pull the edges of her mouth upwards playfully, "If you tell yours, I'll tell you mine!" A fair deal, wasn't it? |

| When the she cat turned her head towards Honeyspots she didn’t hesitate to pull way her gaze. It must look pretty strange for a ThunderClan cat to see a cat so confident in the water, although she remembered seeing a ThunderClan cat in the same river she was now in swimming about like it was his daily business. It was strange, those cats didn’t belong in there and it still bothered her every day she thought about it, it just was as strange as Petalcloud climbing a tree like a SkyClan cat although Honeyspots dropped that matter moments after her encounter with the twolegs. When the she-cat on the shore finally seemed to redeem herself she mewed ‘Hello there. I could ask the same to you, what's your name? Riverclan cat?’ The unknown she-cat smiled slightly, it made Honeyspots a bit more confident about the matter. ‘If you tell yours, I'll tell you mine!’ Her baby blue eyes rested on the cat for a moment, a bit speechless by such civilized manner of speaking she got. A snarl, hateful or cool kind of way was something she normally got from a rivalry clan. ”Agreed” Honeyspots answered. ”If you don’t mind me settling down on a rock-” she gestured with her head to a small crossing ”while I’ll tell you my name”. She turned and swum towards a shallow part of the river. It looked like an underwater bridge made out of dirt and mostly pebbles with some random rocks scatted on it, with one big rock in the middle suitable to sit on. It was a common and popular spot used by many RiverClan cats if they wanted to get a decent meal. Honeyspots climbed on the pebbles and eventually heaved herself on the rock, water gushed off her long fur. She huffed and sat down, her tail dryly curling around her forepaws. With one paw she streaked some strands of fur out of her eyes and looked over towards the snowshoe. ”The name’s Honeyspots, newly RiverClan warrior and best fisher in all RiverClan” She mewed proudly although she mentally giggled at her own words. Okay, she was good, but surely not the best fisher. She eyed the ThunderClan warrior cautiously and you could say that by the looks of it she wasn’t much older as she was. Maybe even younger, ages weren’t her strongest point. She rose one forepaw and started to lick it dry. Although RiverClan cats were known for their special kind of layer they had on their fur that would withstand water, you could say that they at least didn’t get soaked ‘till the bone. But quite soaked with such a long coat was the right thing to say. While she licked her paws dry she continued casually ”and if you may fall in the river by accident, I may be willing to give my kind heart a lick. Best fisher and best swimmer, if you may” Honeyspots poached with slight amusement in her eyes. Thank heavens that up until today she didn’t have to make the choice if she would save an innocent ThunderClan cat who fell in the river. She hoped with all her heart that she never would have to, she was afraid that maybe she would start to think too much about it and maybe accidently kill the cat, or save it and never hear the end of it among her clan mates. I should ask my aunt about it, or Stormstar, maybe they know. She thought innocently.
