Bobcat
Chapter 1: The Information of the bobcat.
The bobcat is an mammal animal from the feline family. He is about 65 to 105 centimeters tall if they would stand straight and the schoulder height is between 45 to 58 centimeters. They are about 4 to 5 kilograms.The Bobcats could have a brown fur or a grey fur, but always with some dots. They hide for humans. The Latin name for the Bobcat is the Lynx rufus. Bobcats are also called “wildcats”. They are twice as big as the house cat. They have also very long legs and large paws. They have pointed ears, like their brother the Lynx. The cat gets his name because of his tail, because it looks cutted or “Bobbed”. Thats why his name is the Bobcat.
Chapter 2: Hunting and food
These mammals are extremely good hunters and can hunt on animals that are twice as big as themselves! But most of the time, they eat Rabbits, Birds, Mice, Squirrels and other little animals. This animal hunts at night, his eyes are made for that. They can live very long without food. He can kill deers, they are very big for a Bobcat.Males hunt in a bigger area and the females in a small one. Bobcats hunt by theirselves.
Chapter 3: Life Cycle
Bobcats can be 16 years in the wilderniss and 32 years in capivity. But the most will end their lives when they are 6 to 8 years old.
In the spring, in April/May, a mom gets his kittens, between the 1 and 5 kittens. They are pretty small and from 140 gram until 230 gram. The kittens open their eyes when they are 10 days old. Then, the mother starts to teach the little kittens her hunting skills, so they could survive in the wild. They will live in a cave or den with their mother. The father does not help, but will leave. When the kittens are about 10 months, they will leave her mom and live solitair. When they are 2 years old, the females will be able to carry kittens.
