| Mood: Pumped | Words: 1.064 | Company: Emberstorm Rainfoot dodged a rock and bounded after a hare that was making it's way to a hole not far away. Determent to catch it he sped up using his slender body and his strong muscles to gain speed. He wasn't WindClan for nothing! With a enormous leap he shot forward and landed on the hare, killing it swiftly with a fatal neck bite. Panting but happy with his catch he let go of it and sat down for a minute. He had been chasing the hare for at least thirteen minutes and didn't start to run after it until four minutes ago. His ice blue eyes showed triomf. He didn't had such an exciting chase in moons and was happy with some distraction nowadays. He swept his gaze over the white moorland in front of him and smiled softly. He should better bury his prey before someone else found it and took it. He started right on the spot to make a hole, not very deep but deep enough to mask a scent. He plopped the hare down in it and closed it off. With a sigh of relief he straitened and darted away to his next catch. It didn't took him long to find his next prey. A small rabbit was scurrying the ground next to an great hole that run deep down the ground. Rainfoot knew that it was the abandoned badger set. Nowadays some rabbits lived there or even some foxes but not permanent luckily. So far he didn't encounter any danger in there it never hurts to check. He decided to first grab the rabbit and after that he would check the dens. Crouching and making sure not to make any sound he stalked forward, towards the little white and fluffy speck of rabbit in the white background. Licking his lips he took a deep breath and jolted forward. Using his hind legs to make speed he used his claws to dig into the ground and get more power between the darts. The rabbit had practicly no change and by the time Rainfoot closed it between his claws the rabbit let out one, hollow squeak before it died. With another successful catch he smiled grateful. It seemed that today was his lucky catch after all. He brought the rabbit to the place where he buried his last catch and placed it on top of the hare. After that he took no time to look out for other preys but headed straight of to the abandoned badger sets. He stopped by the first hole and carefully sniffed it. The scent was stale what mend that the badgers indeed haven't came back since their last visit some moons ago. Relieved, he carefully went down and disappeared into the darkness not taking notice from the cat stalking up to him from behind. Slowly he chose a dark corridor to inspect all his senses on sharp to make sure he could not be surprised by a badger or fox. As he made mode progress down, not knowing for sure were he was going he noticed the smell increasing. The scent made a halt between fox and badger. Nervous with all his hairs sprang up on his pelt he stopped when the scent made a peak. He peeked around a corner and noticed something big moving. Was it a badger or a fox? He could not say for sure, what he could say for sure was that he had to go out of here, and fast. While he inspected the moving black blur better he tried to make sure what exactly it was. It looked to small to be a badger but then again the stench was so overwhelming that it could be both. Fox and badger were the main two smells he could pick up, not to mention the stench of weasels. He perked his ears and came to the point that he had to turn around and look for help to inspect it. Rainfoot could not do this alone, no matter how much he tried. Slowly he turned around and as quiet as he could he sneaked up, choosing a different route this time. The dark corridors were claustrophobic and the constant presence of faint badger and faint fox smell made him feel small. He had the distant feeling he was being watched, but not sure by what. He was never a big proponent of dark, smelly burrows. Especially burrows of enemy beasts. At least he didn't live in a forest. Foxes and badgers loved forests more than moorlands that was for sure. The chilly air inside the den made him even more tense. It felt cold and dead down here and the more he started to think about it the more he became aware of the stupidity that he went down here on his own. The constant silence that hung around him made him feel suffocated. It lay over him as a dark blanked, blinding him, suffocating him. Rainfoot stopped when he thought he saw something moving in the utter darkness. He quickly shot down a left corridor and nearly ran into some roots that grew trough the corridor. He huffed and streaked trough it. Running now, making sure that he could notice in time a possibly badger of fox he chose the hole that had the most air coming trough. Possibly this was the exit! Not a moment to soon he saw the speck of light at the end of it and he dashed forward towards it. Like a bullet out of a gun he shot outside, to stop half a meter away from it. Panting he sat down, listening to his own, frantic heartbeat that beat ted like a drum. His icy blue gaze swept towards the entrance as he closely watched it, ears perked and eyes fixated. Something was coming his way, he could feel the ground tremble under his paws. Only, would it be a badger, or a fox? The possibility that it could be clan mate didn't cross his mind. Instead he took the opportunity to rise again and then sunk to an attacking mode. Eyes narrowed, claws unsheathed and his lip curled up in a soundless snarl. Whatever it was, it was coming his way, and it was coming his way fast. He took a deep breath, and prepared himself for the worse, ears flat back.

| | EMBERSTORM AND WHEN YOU'RE DYING I'LL BE STILL ALIVE All alone he turns to stone while holding his breath half to death Terrified of whats inside to save his life he crawls like a worm from a bird crawls like a worm from a bird It was all dark around her. All dark with that earthy damp stench emanciating from the roots and muddy walls all around her. Emberstorm didn't really care however, she just was apathic to it. With her eyes half closed, she laid in the abandoned Badger Den. It might've sounded strange if she told anyone, but she really liked this place. This was the only place she didn't get bothered by anyone. She figured it out a few days ago, once she determined that the badger set was really empty. After that, it was a quick piece of work to make this den her own for some moments she needed her time alone. And by god, she needed those times. And that's exactly the reason why she didn't tell anybody about this nest of hers, her own special place. Her eyelids slowly slid over her green hued eyes as she dozed of safe and soundly. Her tail curled around her and the tip put at a rest on her nose, she felt truly safe. If you didn't count the overwhelming scent of badger that clung to every fiber of her body. If the badger would come back, she'd fight it bravely. She had decided that already when she first entered this den on her own, but she wasn't that sure of her skills. For a lone warrior, it really was hard to fight off a badger. Especially in such a narrow and enclosed space like this. But she also had already checked some escape routes for herself. If she really would get into a tight spot, she'd turn tail and run. And this wasn't called the abandoned badgerset for no reason. She had thought it all out. Emberstorm wasn't dumb. Of course, she had made her mistakes in life, but she wouldn't fall again. She wouldn't allow herself to sink down into depression again. Not due to him, not under any circumstance. She wouldn't be the one wou would suffer anymore, Leopardstrike would suffer. She wouldn't even mind if he'd suffer under her paws. Would she mind at all? No, actually, she'd be glad to be the one to end him. Maybe it was a bit bad, but when she thought of him, a slight murderous intend slipped into her mind. Maybe that was just healthy, after what he did to her. But she just didn't think about it much anymore, she just let her feelings go with the flow. Did she just imagine hearing that? A soft scraping sound of scratching claws to the earth slowly reached the soft, sensitive fur inside her ears. Her ears perked up and a little drowsily and she lifted her head up. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, she listened closely. A cold claw of fear slashed through her heart however, when she definately heard some noises. She could feel her heart thumping in her throat and her eyes widening in fear. Slowly, staying as silent as she possibly could, she rose from her spot and took an attacking stance. True, she wasn't that good of a hunter, but a fighter? Sure she was! A smirk spread on her face, slowly turning into a snarl with her teeth bared. Her eyes glittered dangerously as she waited... and waited. The sounds got louder and she could swear, she could see something moving in the edge of the tunnel and then... It moved away again. Pure adrenaline was pumping through her veins now and she allowed herself to be carried away by it. "You aren't going to get away THAT easily you filthy fleabag!" She snarled and she sprang into the tunnel, following the trail of the 'attacker'. She didn't care at this point what it was, a fox, a badger or a weasel. Her paws thumped on the hardened earth and the light from the entrance started to pierce into her eyes. She was getting closer and closer, wasn't she? She forced herself into an ever faster run and followed the shadow out of the den. The idea that it might've been a cat, didn't cross her mind at all. It could be a rabbit if all she cared for, she was all pumped up now and ready to strike. She propelled out of the entrance of the den, bowling her supposed enemy over. Her claws pricking in the fur of the figure, realization and a slight horror struck her face. "Rainfoot?" She asked, slight shock into her voice. But her expression quickly changed into one of contempt. "What were you doing in that badger's den? Spying on me and running away quickly after that? Or just lazing around, trying to get away from your tasks?" She mewed, a slight sneer evident in her voice. Still she kept her firm grip on the younger warrior. "Something wrong, pretty boy?" She mewed, still a slightly cold tone in her voice. She didn't feel a lot of respect for the younger warrior. Respect was something you earn. And those rambunctious young warriors just rubbed Emberstorm in the wrong way, no respect earned at all. Her eyes narrowed slightly, her pale green gaze piercing into Rainfoot's. The thing she wouldn't admit however, was that he found out about her hiding place and that that made her a bit fearful. She would never admit on fear and she wouldn't show it either. She'd have an answer ready if he dared to accuse her of slacking off. A slight coldness tinged her gaze as she continued to stare down at Rainfoot. For a moment she pondered if she would just let him go, but her mind quickly shifted that idea away. If he wanted to get loose, he would have to fight for it. A slight smirk made the edge of her mouth twitch upward in a slight smirk. She'd be ready if he tried. Even though Emberstorm's reputation made her seem a bit of a frosty personality, she knew what made herself tick. If you got her respect, you would have it forever, unless you betrayed her pretty badly. WORDS: 1010 COMPANY: Rainfoot NOTES: Song: Portal@ Still Alive | |
