Petalpaw waked up early in the morning. Ze streched en yawned. The most cats were still asleep, as the sun wasn't up yet. As silent as she could, Petalpaw walked away from the camp. She was heading for the Waterfall. She liked looking at the sunrise from there. The animals in the forest weren't woken yet too. Only the song of a lonely blackbird filled up the silence. When the lightcoloured she-cat came closer to the waterfall, the rumbling noise of it became louder, until the blackbird's song was overruled by the sound of falling water.
At the top of the waterfall, the silver grey tabby cat sat down en looked to the east. The first sunbeams of the day emerged above the horizon and shined on Petalpaw's face. She closed her eyes. While the sun rised, she heard the forest wake up. Birds began to sing. Petalpaw tried to imitate the sounds of the birds, but her attempts didn't sound very well so she stopped trying and hummed a simple song. She opened her eyes and looked around. Everywhere little flowers came up. Newleaf brought new life and all the trees and plants had small green buds. A few trees near the river already had white and pink blossoms.
The tabby she-cat heared something and looked towards it. Between the branches she saw two eyes. She smelled a cat, probably the owner of the eyes she saw. 'Hello,' she said calmly, and waited for the other cat to emerge.
