Character description: If his personality were to be summed up in a single sentence, Demonstrike, also known as Damon, could be described as a cruel, snarky jerk who is a master at manipulating. He is cunning, self-interested, and amoral, willing to do just about anything to get what he wants. In essence, Damon is a borderline sociopath, showing very little concern for the well-being or survival of most cats. He can be sadistic, taking pleasure in the pain of others. He also has no problem taking lives, if it suits his mood or purpose, and he can turn on a former friend completely upon betrayal.

Sly and narcissistic, Damon is well aware of his own physical attractiveness and has no problem using that to his advantage. He can be very charming, and certainly seductive as well. He often displays a dark and cutting sense of humor. Damon tends to prefer to present those aspects of his personality, and he is often as careless to the suffering of others as he appears. If there are times when he does care, he almost always hides it. Occasional hints of his inner loneliness appear, but Damon is generally mistrustful of others’ motives and tends to view other cats as something he can use rather than peers.

Damon generally tends to remain in control of his emotions. His mother is one of the few who can provoke him to genuine anger. When he loves, the devotion goes very deep, past all reason. Damon can be quite insightful when he puts his mind to understanding someone. Unfortunately, he tends to use this ability to further his manipulations more than anything.

Demonstrike was originally a very free-spirited young tom. However, his carefree life fell apart when the love of his life betrayed him by cheating on him with another tom. His mother never approved of his relationship with her, because she was a rogue, but Damon loved her deeply and recklessly nevertheless, regardless of the consequences and not caring that his mother was ashamed of him. Therefore he was left heartbroken when he realized that this love wasn't mutual and this turned him into the cruel, mistrustful cat he is nowadays.

Demonstrike never knew his father, but his mother claimed that he was a brave warrior of Shadowclan who died in battle, called Lionstrike. He grew up believing this, until rumors within the clan started to say otherwise. Some cats believed that Smokebreath, the grumpy medicine cat of Shadowclan, was in fact his father, considering the relationship he and his mother had before he were born. Both cats denied this fervently, and Demonstrike also wouldn't hear a word of it. However, doubts were starting to stir in his mind and one day he discovers the truth about his father. It's not Lionstrike, nor Smokebreath, but a rogue his mother once saw when she sought the attention of other toms after the breakup. Demonstrike is shocked. His mother, who always said she was disgraced of him because he had a relationship with a rogue, hooked up with one of them! He is furious and decides he never wants to have anything to do with her again. Until now, he has been living with this shame and slowly, this has turned his heart bitter.
