The day and night colored the nky pink, when the brown tabby exited the camp. It wasn't his usual routine to be out right before the moon came up. But he had heard that times like this, in the far middle of Greenleaf, had a beautiful sight. And he didnt want to miss it for the world. Especially now that the sky seemed to be free from clouds. He arrived at the clearing; the Marshlands. A quite muddy place, if you asked him. In times like Leafbare he'd sure avoid this place. Though right now, it hasn't rained in a while. So most places were dry and dusty. Chickenpaw could even see the cracks forming in the dirt. So of course this wasn't a great place to hunt, or so he thought. But he wasn't here for hunting anyway. The brown apprentice sat down and looked up at the sky, that was slowly forming, moving to give the night a special place. Where he could see the stars, would his father look back at him? Was he one of the stars in the first place? For the first time in moons, the young tom found peace in the silence. He was always quite jumpy in places like this. Where he seemed vulnerable and easy to attack. But right now it seemed like only StarClan could save him now.

The warriors and pther apprentices finally fell asleep when he left the camp. Skullpaw took a deep breath when he was outside. The air was rather cold compared to the high temperatures they had the past few days and a small smile played on his face. He walked around the territory and tried to see every spot, every place, but he froze when he saw another cat. He took small steps closer to the tomcat when he realised who he was, but stayed close to the trees, hidden in the shadows. Skullpaw followed his gaze to the stars and raised an eyebrow. What the hell was he doing here at this time of the day? The grey cat slowly moved a bit closer to him and quietly sat down next to him, trying not to disturb him too much because he seemed lost in his own thoughts. A soft sigh escaped his lips and he looked up at the stars too. Would they be willing to forgive him for what he did? For every single thought that crossed his mind? But he believed he could answer those questions already, and all of them would get the same answer. No. No they wouldn't. There was no way they could forgive a traitor and this made him lose the smallest bit of believe he had for the clan that was high in the sky. "It's a beautiful night to be outside," the cat whispered and his voice sounded raspy. A million thoughts and scenarios crossed his mind when he opened his mouth, but he didn't stop himself from talking, even if he probably shouldn't have opened his mouth at all.

He didn’t notice the other’s presence until he heard the familiar voice right next to him. Causing his tail to fluff up in an instinctive, panicked way. "It's a beautiful night to be outside," his green eyes gave a glow when he turned to look at Skullpaw. The corners of his mouth quirked up in a small smile, but he turned his head back up to the sky. He remembered a couple days ago, the first time they even got to talk. The gray tom got quite defensive when he dropped the BloodClan question. Though he managed to handle it pretty well when Chickenpaw had snapped at him. Totally not Skullpaw’s position to handle his problems. But the brown tom had matured pretty well, and he had easily come to realization that he didn’t want to be treated like a joke anymore. The gentle breathing next to him brought his attention back to the main subject of this night; the sky. “Yeah,” he spoke up after a while of silence. ”It’s a good thing I’ve got to share it with someone like you.” Chickenpaw turned his head to look back at Skullpaw. A full smile present on his face. It was clear that his happiness was genuine. To finally have a friend, someone to spend their time with. He just hoped Skullpaw had the mutual thought.

| The sky. Oh how much he hated the bloody sky at the moment. He slowly looked away from de sky and met Chickenpaw's green eyes. The grey tomcat could lose himself in his eyes, all the different shades of green made him want to move his face closer to his, just to get a good look. To make sure he would never forget every single shade of green in his eyes. A small frown placed itself on his forehead when the other apprentice looked away and all he wanted to do was ask him to look at him. He still had so many shades of green yet to discover in his eyes. “Yeah,” the tom spoke after a bit of silence and looked at him again which made Skullpaw sigh softly in relief. ”It’s a good thing I’ve got to share it with someone like you.” All he did was nod and return a small smile back at him, too lost in his eyes once again. "Yeah," he mumbled and blinked a few times. Stop staring, he thought and looked at his nose, his ears, his whiskers, everything. "I guess so," he replied softly and gave him a bigger smile. "It's... nice to have someone to spend some time with." Was the last thing he said before he closed his mouth again, waiting for Chickenpaw to say something before he screwed up the moment by saying something wrong.

His green eyes were focused on Skullpaw when he began to speak up again. Silence was great, but nothing was better than sharing your company with someone where he could be comfortable with. They were both so different, yet so alike. Chickenpaw couldn’t really tell. "Yeah," he mumbled. Causing the brown tabby to lean his head a bit to the right in a confused way. "I guess so. It's... nice to have someone to spend some time with." That, he could agree with. He smiled back at Skullpaw before he looked back up at the dark sky. That was soon filling up with stars. “You know, my dad died before I was born.” He suddenly spoke up, his throat tightening when he thought about that. He couldn’t even get to meet his dad. “And he’s in StarClan now, but I really wished that he- that he-” He was soon caught off guard by something falling from the sky. Or so he thought. Was that a... A falling star? “Skull, look! A falling star!” He said happily as he stood up in excitement. He heard Apprentices talk about it. It usually helped with whatever you wanted. He assumed StarClan would give him that if he just did what they asked from him. “Quick, make a wish!”
