When I was young

A small dark-grey kitten stared at the outside. Huge raindrops were falling down and the small kitten didn't like that. He wanted to play outside. Play with some other kittens. One was the mouse, the other was the hunter. And that was he. But the plan was not going to happen, unfortunately. His small tail twitched while he sat there, waiting for the moment that it was going to stop. "Thornkit, what are you doing there?" He heard his mum, Innerghost. "Waiting till it stops raining," he squeaked. "U can play inside, you know?" His mum said. Thornkit just looked over his shoulder, but didn't say anything. He just waited, or for another kitten to ask him to play, or for the rain to stop.

A little kitten was laying against his mother. Her name was Ashrise and his name was Hailkit. He was perfectly white. Only his face, tail and legs were red. It was rare, uncommon in his family. So he was a little outsider. Therefore he was loved by his parents. The gray queen poked him friendly. Moaning he waked up. "Stop sleeping so much, go play with some others." Hailkit longed. He stood up against his will. The other kittens thought that he was weird. His mom pushed him out of his comfort zone. "Go", she said. Her smile was warm and he gathered his courage together and walked to another kitten. It was a dark-gray one. "Uhm hello"

But the rain didn't stop. His mum stopped giving him any attention en he kept waiting for something to happen. And there did something happen, another kitten walked toward him and greeted him. "Hello," he said a smile round his lips. Thornkit was a very confident kitten. "Wanna do something?" He asked, because he didn't want to wait for the other kitten to ask him, that would probably take to long.

Hailkit looked at his tiny paws. He didn't know what needs to happend next. Luckily the kitten spoke some words. De prudent kitten started thinking. What shall he do? Uhm... It was hard to think in such stress. "... Mayby...eh... cat and mouse?" What if the dark kitten found it stupid? Oh what did he say?

Thornkit narrowed his eyes when he saw that Hailkit was a little bit nervous. Then the white, red-point kitten came with an idea and the grey kittens eyes lightened up. "Sounds goog! You're the mouse!" He grinned and sank through his forelegs, swaying playfully with his fluffy tail, ready to jump on the other kitten.

Nervous hij looked at his paws. But the answer suprised him. He looked up. Okay he was the mouse. Mouses run. Yeah, he was a good runner. The other kitten swayed playfull with his tail. It maked Hailkit happy and also playfull. For the first time. With a grin he copied the other kitten. "Catch me if you can!" Then he turned around and runned. This was fun!

The nervousness in Hailkit faded like snow in the sun and that made Thornkit smile. He started to like the other kitten, maybe a new best friend? Or better said, his first best friend. Hailkit grinned and sad; "catch me if you can!" And that's when Thornkit jumped up, missed and started tot follow Hailkit. "I'm gonna catch ya!" He chirped happily. He ran, jumped over some moss and followed the other kitten. He was going to catch the other one!

He lauched when the other kitten was trying to follow him. Hailkit was a little kit. Very slim also and so he could run very fast. But if de gray kitten never going to catch him it was no fun anymore. So he maked bends and zigzags. He sniggered softly. "Come on then!"
