"Huh!" she spat at the tree, as she battered at it with her front paws. Whatever Lurkingshade was doing, he wasn't busy training her. It had been a quarter moon, and so she trained herself. A flying kick sent her at least a tail length upward. She wanted to go up the tree, but she was too late to clench up and Echopaw twirled backwards, flailing her paws as she went. The patched she-cat crashed on the soft earth underneath her and growled, getting up on her four paws to go for another round.

A little disturbed, Foxfire dropped the mouse she had just caught and listened to the odd sounds coming from the woods. She could hear the scraping of nails, and then out of the sudden, she heard a loud thump. Fox flinched at the sound and saw that a few birds had decided that they didn't like all the strange noises. The red warrior didn't like them either and she picked up her mouse, but not to walk back to the camp. No, she would search for the cause of this sound. And she found it rather quickly; a black and white apprentice - Echopaw - was teaching herself to climb. She was not the best for the job. Fox gently put down her prey and stared at the apprentice."Need some help?" she then asked, and smirked at the other cat.

Well, that was kind of awkward. Someone obviously had seen her, or heard her, while she was fighting the tree. When the red warrior offered help, Echo froze in motion and thought about it for a split second. Fighting something that wouldn't fight back wasn't any convenient so maybe taking the offer would be the right thing to do. "That'd be cool," Foxfire? Wasn't that the warrior's name? She didn't dare to guess; so she kept quiet about it until the she-cat would introduce herself.

"That'd be cool," the young apprentice answered and Foxfire nodded. "Well, tell me what you were doing there then? Because I couldn't really see what you were trying to do. You climbing or fighting?" Fox asked with a grin on her face, and she sat down patiently. She wanted to see what kind of cat Echopaw was. She would know immediately if this was a she-cat with spirit, but she would also know to go a little easy on her if she were shy or something like that.

What she was doing, climbing or fighting, the fire red tabby wanted to know. Echo opened her snout to reply. "I was... trying to fight the tree," She sounded so retarded. A chuckle blew through her muzzle. "Guess it fought back. He won," she joked, chortling softly. She turned her whole body to Foxfire and straightened up. "Can you teach me some things?" the apprentice asked. Any warrior could fight, right? So why not learn from other warriors?

An amused laugh came from the young warrior when the apprentice answered her question. "I was... trying to fight the tree," Echopaw said and Fox smiled at her. "Well, that is a lot harder then fighting a cat." she meowed. "Guess it fought back. He won," the statement of the apprentice let her raise her eyebrows. That was new - a fighting tree. The black and white she-cat faced her. "Can you teach me some things?" she then asked, and Foxfire grinned from ear to ear. "I don't know, can I?" she said, joking.

"Guess it is, yes. It was a great experience though," she laughed at Foxfire. After the question if the red she could teach her anything, she retorted the question to Echopaw. The patched apprentice shrugged and smirked. "I'm pretty young, my mentor's not training me anyway, you have all in the world to teach me," she spoke honestly. Yeah, the warrior could teach her anything. She didn't have that much of knowledge in fighting nor hunting yet.

Well, the apprentice sure did know how to bite back and wasn't shy at all, which was actually a great thing - or that was what Foxfire thought, anyway. She herself liked the happy and funny cats more then the shy and quiet ones. "Well, let's see." she started and gave Echopaw a wink. "Have you had any training before? Well, fighting lessons, I mean." she then asked. She hoped so, then she would have a base to start with. "Who is your mentor, anyway? Doesn't look like he's taking his job seriously."

The smaller she nodded. "Yeah, some. Basics, few moves," she replied. Because in the start, Lurkingshade had trained her from early in the morning till dark, with nearly no interferes. Claws and fangs and everything. "Lurkingshade is my mentor, I have no idea where he is right now. Too busy. I already asked for a new mentor, and until the next ceremony I'll see for myself," As she was doing right now, that. She'd look after her own fighting and hunting skills. In trying lies learning. That she knew.
