| Water steadily poured down from a broken drain. Vulture was cold to the core. Half a moon later he still would feel the pain Cyber gave him occasionally. Especially his neck would sting when the weather turned cold. Like now. His tabby fur was covered in still healing wounds. The deepest ones probably would become scars. Vulture huffed and broke the silence. He found a junkyard in an abandoned garden. A crate with a hole in it became a very comfortable home for him. It sheltered him against the elements. It was on such an abandoned place he would not be found by anycat. After the two clancats healed him he sneaked out again and searched for a place where he could recover in peace. I lasted long. Vulture had thought at a night where his wound stung like crazy. A moon and a half he survived without getting any wounds or sustaining damage. He was now half a moons further. He'd lost some weight and did not look as healthy as he did before. The solitude and the lack of food and water he consumed made him truly look like a stray cat. Even twoleg kits didn't try to pet him anymore. Not that he'd mind. He opened his pale green eyes when he noticed that the rain was no longer ticking on the crate anymore. Cautiously he began to slowly push himself up with a huge yawn. He stretched his painful and stiff muscles and dared to poke his head out. The junkyard was as empty as he left it. Vulture sat down again. He hadn't seen Buzzard in a long while. He felt kind of guilty for abandoning her like that. But he was adamant. He would rather die than show her the scars he sustained. All because of her love. Vulture drew a face and spat on the ground. But soon the rising anger faded and placed a hollow, lonesome feeling where it once was. I killed a cat. I done did it. He had said to himself night after night. When the pain of the wounds didn't held him up at night again the guilt did. Sure, Cyber was a danger to everyone. But no cat deserved it to die! Cyber had his whole life in front of him and he ended that .. just like that. The young tom-cat felt sick again and felt the sickening urge to throw up rise. He lay down again on his stomach and started to shiver, even though the cold wasn't that chilling. He often had though about Sunset as well. He had left her as soon as she was asleep, assured she would live. When his mind would not circle around his wounds and his unforgivable deed his thoughts would wander of to her. Sunset had declared she was in love with him. Even know he could not understand it. I just met her for God's sake! How can she say she loves me if she doesn't even know me? I mean .. I killed a cat!. Vulture's mind went back to the incident again. I am a monster. Miserably, he thought. No! He extended his claws. No time to feel sorry for myself.. I've done that for over half a moons now.. time to finally get my lazy ass up and get my life back on track. He pushed himself up again and took a deep breath. Pull yourself together and let's go. Slowly he began to walk. To where, he did not know. He would stay close to the junkyard that was sure. It was a good place to hide and a good place to live. |

V 256 Afwezig Follow you down to the red oak tree
As the air moves thick through the hollow reeds
Will you wait for me there until someone comes

| The borders of the Rogue Territory weren't exactly the first places where you would expect a clancat to be, but it was exactly the place where Honeydew was right now. Not that she didn't know the dangers of being on Rogue Territory, especially on her own after she had heard of a vicious group of rogues that would ruthlessly kill any Clancat that dared to come on their territory, but it was pure desperation that brought her here. Although Greenleaf was in the air, a chilly breeze blew through the air and made Honeydews body sting as if the tiny breeze was a knife. It didn't feel as if Greenleaf was close today, not one bit. Honeydew had tried to hunt on ThunderClan territory, but the only animals she could find were a rat - which looked as if the rodent was close to starvation, but she still lay the rat on the ever declining kill pile in the camp - and an adder, which hissed so furiously at Honeydew that she had decided to run away as fast as she could, like a scared kit. It was exactly that reason - the lack of prey - that she had decided to go on Rogue Territory, almost praying to Starclan that she wouldn't encounter an angry Rogue here. Thunderclan territory was virtually lacking of prey, and when she crossed Fourtrees as a final option to find some prey, there was no small animal to be seen. When Honeydew crossed the border of Fourtrees and the Rogue Territory, she held her breath and carefully looked from side to side. She couldn't see, smell or hear anyone. Great. She began to walk, still anxiously turning her head to see if there still wasn't any cat in sight. Suddenly, a thought crossed Honeydews mind and she froze. What if she would meet an angry Rogue here? What would she do? Fight? Run? That thought kept circling in her head like a strangling snake and it almost felt like the thought of meeting a Rogue overshadowed the urge to find food for the Clan. Honeydew, please, she thought to herself, it will be okay. Quickly catch a nice mouse or another rodent and run to Thunderclan as fast as you can. It will be okay. She felt like an inexperienced apprentice when saying that to herself, not like a warrior, but it strangely helped to calm her mind as she proceeded to walk through the territory. Still no sign of a cat, as if every Rogue had decided to run away and live somewhere else, like Riverclan had done when their camp had flooded. And so she walked, not a cat nor prey to be seen. The grassy field, which looked kind of similar to Windclan territory, had made place for something she had never seen before, but it was definitely made by Twolegs and a scent she had feared to smell here - cat - prickled her nose. The scent didn't scare her as much as she thought. The scent was vaguely familiar to her, although she couldn't recall the cat's name. A vague figure she saw in the distance helped her to recognize the cat. Vulture! Of course! The cat who saved her from the honeybees when she so stupidly tried to taste some honey. She hadn't seen him in months, and she was surprised - and above all relieved - it was him. He looked... different. He was skinny, a lot skinnier than the cats in Thunderclan. 'Vulture!' she exclaimed, as she didn't think he had seen her from that distance. 'It's me, Honeydew!'

| Fly's buzzed around his head as he approached what appeared to be a very hair piece of twoleg food. Disgusted he started at it. The urge to gag was rising as the vile stench hit his nose like a brick wall. "Juk!" He quickly turned away from it and walked away to the opposite direction. The stench made him unaware of the newcomer on the junkyard. When she called out to him he looked around, spooked. His jaw dropped. A ugly, scrawny rat was sitting not too far from him on top of some old tires. That rat knows my name! Even better .. it spoke! At that exact moment a voice said 'It's me, Honeydew' Wait .. the rat didn't even open it's mouth. And .. hadn't he met a Honeydew before? Carefully he peeked around the rat and saw indeed a figure standing there. Vulture smiled a bit shyly and walked towards her. It was very relieving to see a friendly face. Friendly was hardly the thing he had seen when living around these parts. "Hey" He muttered, suddenly tiredly for no reason at all. "Aren't you a bit far away from your territory? This place isn't exactly where you want to be" He exclaimed wordily to the much older she-cat. His tail swooped around while he looked her right into her honey colored eyes. "But other than that .. how are you today?" He didn't want to be disrespectful so he'd better add something nice after that. Besides, he was truly curious how she had been for the past dew moons. |
