[ShadowClan camp] When the night falls..

As the night slowly fell, and his siblings fell asleep, two amber eyes pierced through the Nursery. With his ears wide open he listened carefully to the breathing sounds around him. Everyone seemed to be asleep.. As silent as he could, Gloriouskit rose from his place between his siblings. Next to him he felt one of them move a little when he stood up. With steps as big as his tiny paws could allow them, the kit stepped over them. The entrance of the den wasn't far away anymore, just a little further..
When he finally reached the entrance, Gloriouskit quickly moved though the narrow hole. The outside world welcomed him with a soft, cool breeze of fresh air. He deeply inhaled it, happy to be out of that moist den. When Gloriouskit looked up to the sky, he almost fainted. Never before in his short life the sky had been so clear. His amber eyes swiftly moved from star to star. The moon looked like a big, white rock drowning in a lake full of stars. As the little black kit gazed the night sky with open mouth, he thought of something. Why don't I do this much more often? Although he was just a few months old, his interest in the night had always been immense. To him, it was like he was the only cat so far who was interested in this so much. When he looked like the other kits, they were always busy doing other stuff that didn't interest Gloriouskit at all. Why was he so different? All he could do now was wondering, he was just a little kit after all. A little kit under a sky full of glorious stars.

The little kit was very tired, but he couldn't go to sleep for he had told himself that he should stay awake, so he could finally figure out what the black kit next to him was doing at night. This night, luckily for the kit, his neighbor did it again, so the tabby stood up, en jumped after the little creature, to follow it outside. There he saw how the tom-cat sat in the snow, and just stared up the night. Curious to know what he was thinking, Tallkit dared to come closer, but still stopped at a safe distance. "Ehm.. Hey" He said, wondering what it was that he wanted to ask. His voice was low, and even the slightest sound would out tune it, it didn't matter though. The little kit had finally thought of something, and decided that it was politer to go, and sit next to Glorious when he asked it. "Don't you sometimes feel…" He stopped, to think of the right word, and then completed his sentence. "Different?"

- If I may?

He had always felt better at night. The feeling of being alone, gazing stars or clouds, or whatever was in the sky at the moment, and the pitch black atmosphere all around him. Unfortunately, this feeling couldn't go on forever. Soon he had to go back to the moist Nursery to sleep till morning. Suddenly, his ears turned backwards. He could hear small footsteps behind him. A soft, but low voice reached his tiny ears. "Ehm.. Hey," Quickly, Glorious turned around when he heard a familiar voice: Tallkit. His heart still raced by the thoughts of a Queen noticing him outside the Nursery at night time. How would he have explained it? It stayed silent for a few seconds, but then Tallkit stepped forward towards the little black kit. He sat down besides him in the cold snow and took a quick breath, as if he was going to say something. "Don't you sometimes feel..." he stopped for a few seconds, thinking of what he was going to say next. "Different?" Gloriouskit looked at him with slight confusing in his eye, but quickly came to reality. "Yes, I do.. Most of the time," he spoke with a soft voice. The kit didn't really feel sad about it, it just felt strange to be not like the others.

The other staid silent for a little while, but then answered Tallkit's question. "Yes, I do.. Most of the time," The voice of the other tom-cat was soft, and it made Tallkit think of his nest, where he normally spent the night. Why did he feel normal when he was with Glorious? He always was himself, but with this kit, it felt as if he really could trust him. It confused the kitten a little bit, so he decided to just ask, it was the easiest way, and probably also the most effective way. As he turned his head towards the black cat next to him, he swallowed loudly, obviously embarrassed to ask. "Glorious?" He started, he flinched when the other looked at him, but kept on going, "Would you call me your friend?"

Not knowing what to say next, Gloriouskit awkwardly gazed to some of his favorite stars again. He just told Tallkit the only thing he had always been quite unsure about. Since he could talk, the black kitten had always got confused stares from other kits when he talked about his random interests. That's why he kind of stopped talking to them, because they didn't understand him anyways. But this time was different. Tallkit seemed to just listen to all his "uninsteresting" theories and stories about his fascinations, and that was definitely new to him. "Glorious?" Tallkit suddenly asked, breaking the silence. Gloriouskit turned away from the stars and looked him in the eye. "Would you call me your friend?" It stayed silent for a few seconds. Glorious didn't know what to think; nobody had ever asked him something like that. His not-knowing-what-to-do-feeling quickly made place for excitement. "Uhm, yes of course!" he meowed happily. This would probably be a day he would always remember.

Tallkit waited patiently while he saw how the little kitten next to him started to smile. At once there was a whole burst of energy that seemed to pour out of the black cat. "Uhm, yes of course!" Tallkit sighed of happiness, and faced the other. "Why, thanks a lot Glorious! It sure means something to me…" He sat quietly for a few seconds, and started chattering after the short memorial silence. "How old are you anyways? Im four moons already!"
